Pru Palecek teaches piano in Port Washington and Cedarburg, WI. She studied piano from age 7 to 17 with Audrey Brauch Wood, with Carroll Chilton at the University of Wisconsin and at the Hochschule fur Musik und Darstellende Kunst (The University of Music and Performing Arts) in Vienna, Austria.
She was both the organizer and a member of N. Jane Tan’s Well Prepared Pianist Institute in Milwaukee, an intensive 3 year program for pianists and teachers, from 2002 to 2005. Her profile of pianist and educator N. Jane Tan was the cover story in Clavier Magazine’s February 2005 issue.
In 2002 she performed with the Milwaukee Teachers Piano Team, a five piano ensemble, at the Music Teachers National Association national convention and at the Texas Music Teachers state convention. Her current group, Tapestry, opened for Steinway artist Daniel Beliavsky on June 23, 2005 in a Milwaukee recital.
She enjoys playing in the orchestra pit for the Port Summer Theater, accompanying instrumentalists, and playing in a 5 piano ensemble with fellow teachers.
